Overview

Netanya is a bustling city with a population of around 200,000 people. Around fifty percent of the population is observant and the city reflects that with it’s many shuls, religious schools and even a separate beach. The Chabad community has a large and established presence in the city and it’s institutions are spread along the length of Netanya.

An entire Chabad infrastructure is available in Netanya. Starting with Chabad day care through yeshiva and high school. Adult classes, holiday related family events, local Tzivos Hashem programs and N’shei events are all part of the Chabad life style within the city. Chabad in Netanya is mostly made up of Hebrew and French speakers although there is a small English speaking presence as well.

Shuls

Rabbi Sender Cohen leads a small Chabad House called Chabad Ein Tcheilet on Rakefet St.

Rabbi Menachem Volpo leads the main Chabad center in Netanya on Nordao St. It is a dynamic center with a mikva, a special minyan for French speakers, a Judaica shop, Bar Mitzva classes, adult shiurim etc.

Rabbi Tzvi Wilhelm leads Chabad of Bar Ilan. He is a welcoming man who speaks a little English,  He has an active community with shiurim, a library and a men’s mikva.

Rabbi Yosef Leviev leads the Chabad on Smilanski St. This Chabad house has a kollel for older/retired men.

Rabbi Ya’akov Mazzouz runs the Chabad Center for French Speakers on Gad Makhnes St. They have active programming for kids, adult education and a men’s mikva on site.

Chabad of Galei Yam is run by Rabbi Asher Rabinovitch. It’s a small Chabad House on HaBrigada HaYehudit St.

Rabbi Shneur Landa runs Chabad on Campus at the Netanya Academic College.

Schools

Ma’on Chaya Mushka is a Chabad run daycare facility on Nordau St. They provide care for around 100 babies aged 3 months to 3 years. It is run by Mrs. Etty Mor-Yosef.

There are seven Chabad preschool locations spread throughout the city. They are on Masrik St. (ages 3-5), Nordau St. (ages 3-5), Groner St. (ages 3-4), Samurak St. (5 year old girls), Rabbi Akiva St. (5 year old girls), Gordon St. (5 year old boys) and Daniel St. (5 year old boys.)

The girls elementary school Beit Sefer Chaya Mushka is on Netzach Yisroel St. It is an award winning school for academic excellence and is run by Rebbetzin Gitta Volpo.

The boys elementary school Divrei Menachem is on Nechemia Viner St. and is run by Rabbi Yigal Farchon. It has around 200 students and includes grades 1-8.

Beit Rivka for high school girls is run by Rebbetzin Chana Zalmanov. It’s on Nechemya St.

Yeshivat Torat Menachem on Viner St. is headed by Rabbi Moshe Orenshtein. There are around 110 boys learning at the yeshiva.

Food/Kashrut

With such a high percent of observant folks in Netanya there are many options available for the mehadrin consumer.

Mikvahs

There are two Chabad Mikvahs in Netanya.

Mizrachi Mikva on Shapira St. and Mikva Chabad on Nordau St.
